Manager, Marketing & Communications
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We seek a strategically-minded marketing and communications professional with a penchant for creative ideation and a passion for making lasting social change. The primary functions of this position include support in the management of the Marketing & Communications team, leading the strategy phase of our client’s marketing and communications work, growing the Marketing & Communications department, and helping to identify and refine new processes. In this role, you will have the opportunity to think strategically, boldly, and creatively about how to tackle some of the biggest social issues of today. The ideal candidate will have a background in marketing/communications research and strategy, be a strong writer and expert copy editor, have an eye for design, be hyper-organized, have a background or strong interest in issue-oriented work, and have management experience.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Strategy Development
- Develop, manage, and execute innovative and informed marketing and communication strategies for our nonprofit, individual, and corporate clients that include: landscape research and analysis, strategic opportunity identification, messaging development, brand identity development, creative campaign design, and cultivating media relations
- Conduct in-depth marketing and communications research, distill key points, and identify strategic opportunities based on the information gathered
- Develop strategic recommendations for the clients’ brand or campaign, and create presentation deck deliverables
- Monitor marketing and communications trends and changes in media, political, brand and nonprofit landscapes and proactively share insights and recommendations with departments, clients, and full PD team
- Analyze and evaluate executed strategies, assessing campaigns’ successes and areas of opportunity/growth
Project Management and Execution
- Manage multiple complex projects and deliverables in various stages of development, appropriately prioritizing and reprioritizing as the clients’ and department’s work evolves and shifts
- Work closely with Account Teams to ensure exceptional and timely review and delivery against our Scope of Work and services for each client
- Develop, support, and manage relationships with key Mar/Comms partners and vendors
- Work closely with the Digital & New Media department to ensure strategic alignment on deliverables throughout client projects
Client Services Support
- Create client-ready deliverables, including strategy presentation decks, messaging, and analytics reports
- Manage and oversee execution-phase deliverables, including creative briefs and creative content (videos, photos, graphics)
- Oversee and ensure quality control of all marketing and communications materials and content distributed by the department, including messaging, brand aesthetic, content creation, and execution by Marketing & Communications Coordinators
- Support Account Leads in all communications with Marketing & Communications clients to provide and appropriately present strategies, frame updates, answer questions, strategically advise, and ensure continued strategic alignment and client satisfaction

MORE ABOUT YOU
- ENTHUSIASTIC COMMS PROFESSIONAL: You have 5-7 years of marketing and media experience. Experience at a creative agency and an issue-based background is a plus!
- GREAT COMMUNICATOR: You have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. You create clear and compelling slides/emails/memos/messaging that integrate with relevant workstreams, and the overall storyline and project. You also have a demonstrated ability with Keynote.

Position reports to: Sr. Director, Marketing & Communications
