Deborah Herman

Business Development Operations Specialist

Deborah Herman is the Business Development Operations Specialist at Propper Daley, where she supports the agency’s business development through project and process management and creation of new business materials. In this role, she also collaborates across internal client teams to develop strategic proposals and scopes to secure new business with potential foundation, brand, and individual partners to expand the agency’s impact.

Prior to joining Propper Daley, Deborah spent over eight years working with senior leadership and campus partners at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine identifying federal funding opportunities and developing content in areas of research such as cancer, mental health, pulmonary disease, and neuroscience. She coordinated renewal submissions of UCLA’s largest multi-million dollar research infrastructure grant to the National Institutes of Health in support of workforce development and community engagement programs that served 250 multidisciplinary faculty across local healthcare institutions. Prior to that, Deborah worked for the Los Angeles chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation managing foundation relations, the grants portfolio, and proposal strategies to identify and secure annual funding across private, corporate, and community sources.

Deborah earned both her M.A. in Communication Management and her B.A. in Communication from the University of Southern California.
