Deborah Herman

Manager, Business Development

Deborah Herman is the Business Development Manager at Propper Daley. In this role, she works across the team to develop proposals, scopes, and pitches to secure new business with potential foundation, brand, and individual partners and expand the agency’s impact. Prior to joining Propper Daley, Deborah spent over eight years working with senior leadership and campus partners at UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine identifying federal funding opportunities and developing content in areas of research such as cancer, mental health, pulmonary disease, and neuroscience. She coordinated renewal submissions of UCLA’s largest multi-million dollar research infrastructure grant to the National Institutes of Health in support of workforce development and community engagement programs that served 250 multidisciplinary faculty across local healthcare institutions. Before her work at UCLA, Deborah managed foundation relations, the grants portfolio, and proposal strategies to identify and secure annual funding across private, corporate, and community sources for the Los Angeles chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Deborah earned both her M.A. in Communication Management and B.A. in Communication from the University of Southern California.
